| ¹ The Global Service Institute is a long-term project supported by the Ford Foundation. It sets out to study, inform and assist in the development of service worldwide. It is in the process of creating a web-based information network, and supports research and innovations in policy and programme development. The Global Service Institute is being developed as a global institution 'without walls' by the Center for Social Development at Washington University in St. Louis and Innovations in Civic Participation (ICP) in Washington DC. It works with many organisations and individuals around the world who are interested in the study and implementation of civic service programmes. |
